Paul R
Marks
Jul 20, 1938 — Jul 21, 2026
Newton Falls
Paul Robert "Bob" Marks, born July 20, 1938, entered Heaven on July 21, 2026.Bob was born in Hollentown, Pennsylvania, to Joseph L. Marks and Anna M. (Schumacher) Marks.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Henry, Adeline and Charley. He graduated from Reade Township High School in Pennsylvania in 1956.
In 1957, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Gwin. Their love story began long before high school; they had been classmates since first and second grade. Together they raised three sons, Michael, Daniel, and Joseph. Most of Bob's adult life was spent in Ohio.
Bob retired from Anchor Motor Freight in Lordstown, Ohio in 2000. He would often tell you that the most important decision he ever made was giving his heart and life to Jesus Christ, a commitment he faithfully lived out every day. He remained an active member of Life Church in Leavittsburg throughout his life. Through his faith, his work and his union, God blessed him with many lifelong friends.
Bob was a true man's man. As a young man, he loved playing baseball and remained a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State, the Cleveland Cavaliers and of course the Cleveland Guardians.
Bob was a hardworking man who deeply loved his family. He and Nancy experienced profound heartache with the loss of two of their sons, Michael in 2013 and Daniel in 2019.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son, Joseph Marks of Puerto Rico; his grandson, Nicholas Marks of Florida; his granddaughter, Laura (Douglas) Valot of Florida; and his great-granddaughters, Allyson and Courtney Valot, of North Carolina. He was "Pap" to his family.
Lovingly remembered by his family and friends. "How do you put a good man's life into just a few words in an obituary?"
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 6pm at Life Church in Leavittsburg. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm. Rev. William Meadors will officiate.
