Ralph C. Johnson, age 76 of the Southview Manor Group Home in Niles, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following lung cancer and pneumonia complications. Mr. Johnson was born December 6, 1934 in Lordstown where he spent most of his life helping on the family farm. He was the son of Rufus H. and Edith C. Johnson who preceded him in death. Ralph enjoyed socializing about Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and farm tractors (especially John Deere). He quoted frequently from Farm & Dairy sayings. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Niles where he also participated in Bible Study. He also had attended the Salvation Army Drop-in Center. Loving memories of Ralph will be carried on by his sisters, Ruth Johnson Parker (Dale) of North Bloomfield, Mary Jo Johnson Bofekamp (Donald) of Niles, Elsie L. Johnson Whetzel of Newton Falls, Ruby J. Johnson Hawkins (Jerry) of Warren and Anna E. Johnson Hirschinger (Frank) of Flowler. Many nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews, great-great nieces/nephews also survive. Ralph was predeceased by brothers, Frank D. and George E. Johnson and sister, Grace (Johnson) Penn. Friends may call at James Funeral Home, Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm where the funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm.
