Ralph G. Meckler, age 68, of Newton Falls passed into eternal life on September 3, 2010 at 2:30PM at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 22, 1941 in Sharon, PA the son of George D. & Della M. (Arbuckle) Meckler. Ralph married the love of his life, Ethel V. (Ginger) Neese on February 13, 1965 and they enjoyed 45 years of marriage together. He has lived in Newton Falls since 1980 formerly of Windham,OH. Ralph worked as an inspector at General Motors in Lordstown, OH for 32 years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of the US Army serving four tours of duty during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Sharon, PA. He was Past Master of Mahoning Lodge #394 before they merged making Niles McKinley Lodge #794, member of the Newton Falls American Legion, Past Patron & member of the Eastern Star Chapter #181, 32nd Degree Mason of the Valley of Youngstown Scottish Rite, member of the Knights Templar of York Rite of Warren, Alli Baba Grotto, White Shrine of Warren, UAW Retirees, and the East Ohio Lapidary Club. Ralph enjoyed working on stained glass, doing pottery and ceramics, woodworking, fishing, camping, coin collecting, and metal detecting. He also was a Lapidarest, motorcycle enthusiast, jewelry maker and candle maker. He taught everything he was involved in to his grandkids. He is preceeded in death by his father, one son Ralph G. Meckler, Jr, and his stepmother Virginia Meckler. Memories of Ralph will be carried on by his loving family; his wife Ethel V. (Ginger) Meckler of Newton Falls; his mother Della M. Meckler of Wheatland, PA; his daughter & son-in-law Wanda J. & Bill Murphy of Howland; his son & daughter-in-law Andreu P. & Carrie Meckler of Mentor; his sisters & brothers-in-law Nancy G. & John Beck of Mercer, PA, and Kathie & Dave Wedlake of Greenville,PA; his brothers Joseph Meckler of FL, Mont Meckler of Indiana, and George Meckler of Brookfield; his stepsister Dorothy & Dan Farmer; his grandchildren Tabathia Murphy, Bill Murphy IV, Clarissa Murphy, Emily Meckler, Leah Meckler, and Nathan Meckler. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 11:00AM at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Friends may call the funeral home on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM, where there will be an open Eastern Star Service at 6:30PM followed by a masonic service.
