Ray Lockhart, age 83, of Southington, OH, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at St. Joseph's Eastland in Warren. He was born on March 8, 1931 in Creston, WV the son of the late Elza Lockhart and Blanch (Williams) Lockhart. Ray grew up in WV and came to Ohio in 1950 and married his loving wife Leah Dalrymple in Braceville on January 8, 1951 and had 63 wonderful years together. Ray worked at Denman Rubber for 32 years retiring in 1984. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed. Hunting, fishing ,and competing with his Fox Hounds. He also loved to work on his farm raising beef stock, horses and miniature horses. He and Leah did a lot of traveling to Blue Grass festivals and saw a lot of this beautiful country . He was a member of the Braceville Christian Church. His memories will be cherished by wife: Leah Lockhart of Southington, his son and daughter in law: Ray (Bud) & Janet Lockhart of Southington, two sisters and their husbands Carol & Bob Zahniser of Bend OR, Helen & Tom Bayles of Viena WV, two brothers and their wives: Olin & Letha Lockhart of East Spartan, OH and Rolin & Geneva Lockhart of Cutter OH, granddaughter: Tracy Fox, grandson: Baron Lockhart 5 great grandchildren: Ciera Wilson, Emma, Daisy, Juliette and Layla Lockhart. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Beatrice Cheuvront and Inez Blankenship, 2 brothers: Paul and Vestel Lockhart. The Family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls from 5 to 7 PM and funeral services at 7pm. Ray will be laid to rest at Reformed Cemetery in Southington.
