Obituary

Raymond Harold Sullivan age 87 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday April 10, 2025 at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren.  He was born on Sept. 28, 1937 in Niles, OH the son of the late Raymond Joseph Sullivan and Pauline N. (Meeker) Sullivan.  Ray married Tyanne Croyts on July 30, 1988, and they have enjoyed the past 35 years of marriage together until her death on May 10, 2024.  He has lived in Newton Falls since 1970, formerly of Niles, OH.  He graduated from Niles McKinley High School in the Class of 1955. Ray was a veteran of the US Air Force serving his country from 1960- 1964.  While in the service, he went to college at the University of Illinois and took classes in accounting.  After returning home from the US Air Force, he continued taking accounting classes at Kent State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.  He worked as self-employed CPA accountant and owned & operated Ray Sullivan Public Accounting for the last 50 years and retired in 2020.  He also worked as a bus driver for Newton Falls Schools for 12 years. Ray was instrumental in getting CB Radios for the buses so that they can communicate back and forth.  He was also instrumental in starting the NF Soccer League many years ago, and was a member of the Newton Falls First Church of God. He loved flying, traveling, coin collecting, photography, and stamp collecting.  When he was younger, he was a Boy Scout, and he loved camping, & canoeing.   Ray is preceded in death by only his parents, first wife: Claudette Lee Sullivan, and second wife, Tyanne Sullivan.

He is survived by: 3 daughters: Tammy Hurst of Champion, OH, Tricia Wojnarski of Safe Harbor, FL, Cammy & Fred Ricketts of Mineral Ridge, OH, 2 sons: Kelly Sullivan of Middlefield, OH, Kerry & Angela Sullivan of Warren, OH, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. A Graveside service will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Newton Falls on Tuesday April 15, 2025 at 2:00pm with Pastor Jennifer Dorn officiating.  He will be laid to rest with his wife at Lutheran Cemetery in Newton Falls with full military honors.  The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Newton Falls First Church of God 426 West Broad St. Newton Falls, OH 44444 in his memory.
