Rebecca Jean McDonough, age 63 of Leavittsburg passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. Joseph's Health Center. Rebecca was born on March 19, 1955 in Springfield, OH the daughter of Stephen Kenneth and Doris Jean (LaMar) Nelder. Rebecca married the love of her life, Gerald Lee McDonough on June 25, 1976 and they enjoyed 40 years of marriage until his death on June 3, 2016. She has lived in Leavittsburg for the past 11 years, formerly of Newton Falls. Rebecca owned & operated Becky's Nail & Hair Techniques in Newton Falls for over 10 years and sold the business in 2000. She went to work at Things Remembered for 10 years and retired in 2016. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Newton Falls for over 20 years, and she loved sewing, gardening, baking, crafts, and helping others. Rebecca was a Girl Scout and carrying on this tradition, she was actively involved with her granddaughter Payton's Girl Scout Troop. Rebecca is preceded in death by: her father Stephen K. Nelder, mother Doris Jean Nelder and her husband Jerry.

Loving memories of Rebecca will be carried on by her daughter Lisa McDonough of Newton Falls, son Gerald (Kim) McDonough of Leavittsburg, granddaughters; Payton, Hailee, Kaila, Rylee McDonough and brothers: David, Martin, Fred, Kenny, Eddy, Roger, Nelson, Robin, and Kevin Nelder and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mitch Meadors officiating. Rebecca will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Michael's Cemetery. Rebecca's family would like to thank the nurses in the ICU at St. Joseph's Health Center for the wonderful care of their mother and comfort to their family.
