Richard Erwin Cole, 81 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren. Richard was born October 8, 1933 in Hackensack, NJ the son of the late Lloyd Francis and Ruth Kathryn (Verhoef) Cole. He has lived in Newton Falls since 1982, formerly of Hackensack. On August 21, 1984, Richard married the former Shirley Ann Stewart. They have been blessed with 30 wonderful years of marriage. Richard was a truck driver for numerous trucking companies for over 40 years retiring in 1994. Richard served his country faithfully in the US Navy from 1951-1956. In 1956 Richard enlisted into the US Army and served until 1958. He is a member of the Harvest Point Church of God in Lordstown. Richard loved fishing and photography. Loving memories of Richard will be carried on by his daughters, Eileen Rose (Charlie) Rudy of Lincoln Park, NJ, Nancy Horworth of Dunnellon, FL, his brother, Harvey (Margie) Cole of Miami, FL, 5 step-children: Debra (Wayne) Burns of Newton Falls, Cheryl Day of Newton Falls, William (Bill) Roupe of Newton Falls, Kimberly Shumaker of Newton Falls, Tonja (Jim) Kellar of Newton Falls, 17 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday May 29, 2015 at 1:00 pm with calling hours two hours prior from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Pastor Shannon Newspangler will be officiating the service. Cremation will follow and Richard will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery.
