Robert Lee Armstrong II age 79 of Niles passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday Oct. 18, 2025 at his residence. He was born on Aug. 31, 1946 in Warren, OH the son of the late Robert Lee Armstrong Sr. and Deloris June (Morrow) Armstrong. Bob had lived in Niles since 1972, formerly of Southington, OH where he graduated from Chalker High School in the Class of 1965. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1965 - 1970, and was a member of the Red Horse Battalion #554th during Vietnam. He worked as machine operator at Packard Electric for over 31 years retiring in 1997. Bob was a member of the Praise Assembly of God in Niles, and the UAW Local # 1714. He loved fishing, camping, traveling, his grandchildren, and watching baseball especially the Cleveland Indians & Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Deloris (Dee) Carr, Margaret Taylor, and 1 brother: Paul Armstrong.
He is survived by: 3 sons: Robert Armstrong III of Farmdale, OH, Brian Armstrong of Salem, OH, Mark Armstrong of Salem, OH, 2 sisters: Debra & Larry Bailey of Hickory, NC, Sharon & Tim O'Malley of Niles, OH, 2 brothers: Ted & Marcia Armstrong of Leavittsburg, Stanley Alan & Jeri Lynn Armstrong of Howland, OH, 1 sister in law: Karen Armstrong of Southington, 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday Oct. 23, 2025 from 5:00- 7:00pm. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday Oct. 24, 2025 at 11:00am with Pastor Jim Mashburn officiating, where calling hours will also be held one hour prior to service time from 10:00am to 11:00am. Cremation will follow the service. He will be laid to rest at Meadowbrook Memorial Park in Warren. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Bella Women's Center 1192 North Rd NE Warren, OH 44483 in Bob's memory.
