Robert Elwood Stewart, age 68, of Warren passed Away peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, June 1, 2012 at University Hospital of Cleveland of natural causes. He was born on October 13, 1943 in Fremont, OH the son of the late Donald Vincent & Hazel Belle (Summerville) Stewart- Uber. Robert married the love of his life, Carmen Rita Deminie on March 30, 1972 and they enjoyed 40 years of blessed marriage together. Robert retired from the US Army in 1986 as a Master Sgt after 24 years of service during the Vietnam War. While in the Army he worked as a Cook & Food Service Sgt. After retirement he then went to work as a truck driver for JB Hunt & Scheinder Int. for 20 years until he retired in 2006. Robert enjoyed golfing, football and his grandkids. Spending time with his family was very important to him. Robert was a great provider for his family, and he was very funny and had a great sense of humor. Memories of Robert will be carried on by his loving family; his wife Carmen R. Stewart of Warren; 2 daughters Charlita & Thomas Verba of Lebanon, OH, Ramona & Scott Ramsey of Warren; 2 sisters: Donna & Gene Dennison of Braceville, and Ruth Ann Hopkins of Warren; 1 brother: Rev. James E. & Sue Stewart of Burghill, OH; and 6 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson Stewart M. Ramsey. Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Wednesday June 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm and calling hours two hours prior to service time from 11:00 - 1:00 pm. Pastor Paul Ague will be officating the service. Robert will be laid to rest at Braceville Cemetery.
