Robert Duane McCurdy, age 62, of Warren passed into eternal life on August 17, 2011 at 10:05PM at St.Elizabeth's Hospital of natural causes. Bob was born on April 6, 1949 in Smicksburgh, PA the son of Harry Wayne & Althea Mae (Hallman) McCurdy. Robert married the love of his life, Sharyn Ann Balzer on June 29, 1968 and they enjoyed 43 blessed years of marriage together. He had lived in Warren for over 20 years working as a mechanic for Patrick's Service in Youngstown for 24 years. Robert enjoyed baking pies and gardening. Memories of Robert will be carried on by his loving family; his wife Sharyn McCurdy of Warren; his daughters Tami & David Shaffer of Columbia, SC, Kathleen Walston of Hilliard; his sister Margaret & Les Persin of Newton Falls, his nephew and god son Tim Persin; his brother Don & Marlene McCurdy of Charleston, SC; 4 grandsons Ken, Sam, Joey, Cody; 1 great-grandson Ethan. Robert is preceeded in death by his father Harry Wayne McCurdy. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends for calling hours on Sunday, August 21, 2011 from 2 to 3 pm at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm.
