Robert D. Stewart, age 84, of Braceville Township, passed away peacefully into eternal life on February 22, 2011 at 12:50PM at his residence surrounded by his family. On September 30, 1926 in Bowling Green, OH George Roby & Geneva Leota Stewart were blessed with the birth of their son, Robert. Robert married the love of his life, Leona Overhaulzer, on December 18, 1947 and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage together before she passed away in April of 2004. He was a retired constructional Ironworker for Local #207 out of Youngstown, and was also a retired custodian for Bascom Elementary School. Robert spent two years in the US Navy, where he served on the USS Beverly W. Reid. He was an avid political citizen who was very concerned about his country. Robert was a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes & Cleveland Browns Football Team, and the Cleveland Indians. He was a member of the Braceville United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post #236, and the NRA. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed being involved in the raising of his grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Memories of Robert will be carried on by his loving family; his daughters Darlene Goranitis and her husband George of Warren, his son Dennis Stewart and his wife, Alice of Braceville, his daughters Linda Jensen and her husband Norman of Greatfalls, MT, JoAnne Stewart of Braceville, his sons Robert C. Stewart & his wife, Michelle of Annapolis,MD, Timothy R. Stewart of Victor,MT; his daughter Tammie Dean of Atwater, OH; his sisters Marjorie (Willene) Wishart of Braceville, Helen Marie Morris and her husband Charles of Smithfield, NC; his brother William F. Stewart and his wife Billie of Bryan, OH, his brother Rev. James Roby Stewart and his wife Barbara of Maumee, OH; his grandchildren Peter, George & Dee Dee, Louie & Kim, James & Janet Goranitis; Dennis Stewart , Michael & Kerilyn Stewart , Anna Marie & Joel Brown, Donald & Tollie Love, Christopher & MaryBritt Love, Jeanne & Eric King,Stacey Webb, Shane Stewart, Cassandra Stewart, Timothy John Stewart, Bryce Stewart, Greg Daugherty, Jamie Dean, and Keith Dean, Jr.; great-grandchildren George, Peter Jr., and Thora Goranitis, Joana & Michael Dittmer, George Thomas, Nicholas and MacKenzie Goranitis, Ian Wilcox, Megan Goranitis, Cody, Kylie, Cole, and Kacie Stewart, Liam and Katlyn Love, Eli & Libby Love, Alicia & Haley Ryznar, Cameron & Cadence Dean and 2 expectant great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his wife, Leona Ruth Stewart, father George Roby Stewart, mother Geneva Stewart and one brother Richard Stewart. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11:00AM at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Friday February 25, 2011. Robert will be laid to rest next to his wife, Leona at Braceville Cemetery.
