Robert L. Ward age 71 of Lordstown passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday morning June 8, 2024 at his residence following a long battle with cancer. He was born on Aug. 12, 1952 in Holbrook, PA the son of the late Robert Eugene Brannon and Hazel Ruth (Harrington) Ward . Bob has lived in Lordstown for the last 9 years formerly, of Newton Falls. He graduated from Lordstown High School in 1971. Bob married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Deborah L. Davis on April 18, 1970 and they have enjoyed the past 54 years of marriage together. He worked at General Motors in Lordstown for 32 years, some of which as a Union Representative for UAW Local 1112, retiring in 2002. Bob also was the owner of Hometown Hot Dogs in Newton Falls for 9 years and Bob's Sports Cards in Newton Falls for 8 years.
He was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed playing online poker, collecting various things and listening to classic country music. But most of all he cherished the times he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his step- father : Raymond A. Ward, a sister: Betty Ward, a granddaughter: Tiffany Renee Parker, and a grandson: Andrew Lee Ward.
He is survived by: his wife: Deborah L. Ward of Lordstown, daughter: Renee (Bruce) Parker of Warren, and sons: Bryan Ward (Jackie Fridley) of Fort Wayne, IN, Robert Ward of Howland, Joe (Nicole) Ward of Fort Wayne, IN, grandchildren : Thomas Parker, Olivia Ward, Joseph Ward, Kimberly Ward, and great grandson: Aaron Ryan.
Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday June 14, 2024 at 1:00pm with Pastor Jennifer Dorn officiating. Calling hours will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Lordstown Cemetery in Lordstown, OH. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 in his memory.
