IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald J
King
March 31, 1962 – April 12, 2025
Ronald James King, age 63, of Paris Twp passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, April 12, 2025 at University Hospital Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. He was born in Sault Sainte Marie, MI, the son of Daniel Elwood King and Jane Richards King. Ron had lived in Paris Twp most of his life. After graduating from Southeast High School, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, and Daytona Beach, FL.
For most of his career, Ron was a Senior Principal Project Technician at Swagelok in Solon, retiring in April 2024 after almost 30 years of service. Ron took great pride in his work at Swagelok, and he forged lifelong friendships with many of his Swagelok associates. One of his lab associates described him by saying: "Ron was a great technical wealth of knowledge who could troubleshoot and fix pretty much any electromechanical system. He was fearless and confident in what he did in the lab. He was one of a kind."
Ron was kind and easygoing and, although he was a man of few words, he was quick-witted and had a great sense of humor. He valued his family and friends greatly and was always happy to help where there was a need. He was interested in all things aeronautical, and he loved riding his motorcycle, participating in bocce leagues, and, to quote two friends of his, "He was one hell of a pool player and a hell of a bocce player."
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel King and Jane Richards King.
Ron is survived by daughter, Danielle, of Ravenna; sisters: Kristie (Keith) Gowens of Ravenna; Amy Elizabeth King of Paris Twp; Karen King Weissman of Tucson, AZ; Kathleen King Griffith of Thousand Oaks, CA; Carol King Watts of Placentia, CA. He is also survived by one granddaughter, 13 nieces and nephews, and 16 great nieces & nephews.
