Shelia Louise Popovich, age 60, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal life on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 27, 1956 in Warren, OH the daughter of the late Jesse I. & Dorothy L. (Streets) Waddell. Shelia married the love of her life, James Stephen Popovich on October 11, 1975 and they enjoyed 41 years of blessed marriage together. Shelia had lived all her life in Newton Falls working as a school bus driver and cafeteria worker for Newton Falls Exempted Village Schools for over 30 years before retiring on January 26, 2016. She was a member of the Parkman Road Church of Christ. Shelia enjoyed doing crafts, roller skating, and watching all of Newton Falls sports. She also enjoyed camping and traveling with her family. Memories of Shelia will be carried on by her loving family; her husband James S. Popovich of Newton Falls; her daughters Heather & Martin Kovac of Lordstown, Jessica & Thomas Goodrich of Bazetta, OH; her 3 brothers: Ivan & Kenny Waddell of Winston-Salem, NC, Lyle & Marilyn Waddell of Newton Falls, Dale & Machaela Waddell of Goodyear, AZ; and 2 grandchildren. Shelia is preceeded in death by her parents, and 1 sister Norma Torres. Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Saturday October 8, 2016, at 10:30AM. The family will receive friends for calling hours from 5:00-8:00PM on Friday Oct 7, 2016 at the funeral home. Shelia will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery.
