Shirley Ruth Allison, age 78 of Ravenna, OH entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 9, 2015 at her residence. Shirley was born on May 14, 1937 in Red Creek, WV, the daughter of the late Henry & Jennie (Judy) Snyder. Shirley was one of fourteen children. She has lived in Ravenna for the past 12 years, formerly of Mantua, OH and Parsons, WV. Shirley married Robert E. Allison on July 7, 1984. Shirley and Robert were blessed with 18 years of marriage before his passing on October 21, 2002. Shirley was a farmer for18 years and for 7 years she was the owner and operator of Bennett's Bookstore in Ravenna. She enjoyed cooking, reading, animals and loved her cats. Shirley took great pride and enjoyment in working. Loving memories of Shirley will be carried on by her daughters, Shirley Ann Plum of Hambleton, WV, Cindy Bennett of Ravenna, OH with whom she lived, Ginger Bennett of Grantsville, WV, son, Chuck Bennett of Ravenna, OH with whom she lived, sisters, Lena Pennington of Elkins, WV, Betty Bonner of Parsons, WV, Sharon (Walter) Nestor of Parsons, WV, brothers, Kelly (Adeline) Snyder of Parsons, WV, Bill Snyder of Parsons, WV, grandchildren, Charles Bennett, Marshall Summerville, Christy Mason and 3 great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Charles Bennett, her husband, Robert and 8 brothers and sisters, Tacie DeWalt, Gaye Day, Muriel Simmons, Opal Griffith, Patti McDaniel, Gerald Snyder, Hoy Snyder and Kenneth Snyder. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Summerfield Funeral Home, 225 Walnut St., Parsons, WV, 26287. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Shirley will be laid to rest beside her husband Robert at The Bethel Cemetery of Holly Meadows in Parsons, WV.
