Shirley L. Sayres age 84 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday July 7, 2024 at her residence. She was born on July 24,1939 in Hamilton, OH the daughter of the late Joseph S. Minton and Louisa (Hurley) Minton.  Shirley has lived in Newton Falls since 1968, formerly of Hamilton, OH.  She was a dedicated homemaker and mother to 4 daughters.  Shirley attended the First Baptist Church in Newton Falls. She loved reading her Bible, walking, gardening, traveling through Amish country, and spending time with her grandkids.  Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister: Bonnie Mahaffey, and 4 brothers: Tom, Dewey, Bob, and Paul Minton.

She is survived by: 4 daughters: Cheryl & James Deptowicz of Ravenna, OH, Shelly & Douglas Sanford of Gainesville, TX, Christy & Eric Janus of Shalersville, OH, Tricia & Nick Sennyk of New Philadelphia, OH, 9 grandchildren: Bob, Lindsey, Ashley, Rachel, Joe, Kelli, Kate, Nicky, Maddie, and 6 great grandchildren: Kaden, Aiden, Collin, Caleb, Lincoln and Delphia.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be at the First Baptist Church 2640 South Canal St. Newton Falls, OH 44444 on Friday July 26, 2024 at 11:00am with Rev. Steve Spurlock officiating.  Shirley will then be laid to rest at Union Hill Cemetery in Sugar Creek, OH.
