Shirley Delores Sherretts, age 90 of Warren passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday Feb. 5, 2017 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren. She was born on February 9, 1926 in Rockford, IL the daughter of the late Fred Garula and Matilda (Zimmerman) Garula. Shirley married the love of her life, David Sloan Sherretts on Aug. 30, 1949 and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage together before he passed away on Nov. 30, 2003. Shirley has lived in Champion since 1959 formerly of Pennsylvania & Warren, OH. She worked at Ohio Lamp for 30 years retiring in 1987. Shirley was a member of the First Assembly of God in Warren for many years, and she loves to read, do puzzles, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, step-father & 1 sister LaVerne Gere, and 1 great granddaughter: Miranda Dean. Memories of Shirley will be carried on by her loving family of: 2 daughters: Mindy & Bud Hayes of Newton Falls, OH, Lori & Michael Barta of Tula Rosha, NM, 1 son Charles & Cecelia Sherretts of Houston, TX, 2 sisters: Ruth Wallace of Meadville, PA, Florence & William Hoogstud of Linesville, PA, 1 brother: Ronald Grapatin of Andover, OH, 5 grandchildren , 7 great -grandchildren, and 1 great-great granchild. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Rock of Grace Church 6746 St Rt. 5 Kinsman, OH 44428 on Saturday Feb. 11, 2017 at 1:00pm. Pastor Mark Biel will be officiating the service. Shirley will be laid to rest beside her husband David at Meadow Brook Memorial Park in Warren.
