Obituary

BRACEVILLE—Suzanne M. Dunsmoor, 78, passed away peacefully Friday, May 29, 2026, at The Gardens of Liberty Park in Streetsboro, where she was treated with care and respect up until the time of her passing.

She was born March 13, 1948, in Warren, the youngest daughter of the late David W. Blahu and Gertrude Vingle Blahu, and sister to Diane Duncan Blahu.

Suzanne was a 1966 graduate of Warren Township Schools, Leavittsburg. She attended Youngstown State University to pursue a career in teaching.

In lieu of teaching, she began a long and successful career with Alcan Aluminum, where she started as a mail clerk and retired after 34 years as a junior accountant.

Suzanne was an amazing wife to her husband of 50 years, Russell K. Dunsmoor, whom she married Feb. 14, 1976, and the best mother a girl could ever ask for to her daughter, Lindsay Dunsmoor. Suzanne was a "pawsome" dog mom to Sadie and Edgar and a "furnomenal" grandhuman to her grandferrets, Punk, Ozzy and Sid, and her grandcats, Grady, Layne and Beamer.

When Russell and Suzanne started dating in the glory days of the 1970s, their adventures included attending rock concerts and going on road trips. One of their best moments was when they showed up at a Halloween party dressed as The Blues Brothers. On Friday nights, Suzanne and Russell could usually be found enjoying some delicious food at the Covered Bridge in Newton Falls or the Saratoga in downtown Warren. One of Suzanne's favorite pastimes was having mother/daughter days with Lindsay, which consisted of shopping, lots of laughter and enjoying lunch or dinner, which was usually at a Max and Erma's.

She was a kind and generous soul, and she will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Suzanne will be 5 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, at the James Funeral Home, Newton Falls, with Father Zachary Coulter officiating. The family will receive friends for calling hours 3 to 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that all donations please be made to either the Alzheimer's Association , PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011; or Angels for Animals, 4750 West South Range Road, Canfield, OH 44406, in Suzanne's name.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the James Funeral Home, 8 E. Broad St., Newton Falls, OH 44444, 330-872-5440. Family and friends may view her obituary online or send condolences at www.jamesfuneralhomeinc.com.
