Thelma I. McFarland, age 93, of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. She was born on Nov. 1, 1918 in Newton Falls, OH the daughter of the late Henry E. Sinn and Fern (Johnson) Sinn. Thelma married the love of her William (Bill) Oliver McFarland on Sept. 20, 1941, and they enjoyed 69 years of marriage together before he passed away on June 25, 2011. She has lived most of her life in Newton Falls as a housewife, and attended the First Christian Church where she and her husband Bill were members for the last 70 years. Thelma was very involved in her church where she served as deaconess, sang in the choir, Women's Fellowship, and volunteered at many church dinners. She loved to go shopping, reading, babysitting her grandkids every weekend, her dog, and going out to eat with her husband Bill at all of the area church dinners. Thelma is preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and 1 brother Wilbur Sinn. Loving memories of Thelma will be carried on by her: 1 daughter Linda & Peter Mallog of Newton Falls, 2 grandchildren: Deanna & Brian Nussle of Newton Falls, Charlene Renee & Eric Lane of Stratford, NJ, and 5 great grandchildren. The family would like all donations to please be made to the Newton Falls First Christian Church 17 North Center St. Newton Falls, OH 44444 in memory of Thelma. Per Thelma's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday Jan. 2, 2012 at 11:00 am at the First Christian Church in Newton Falls where calling hours will be held one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 am. Rev.
