Thomas G. Howard, 1932 - 2010. Thomas G. Howard, age 78 of Newton Falls passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at his home. Tom was born August 19, 1932 in Pineville, KY, the son of Fred Clifford Howard and Vesta Wilson. He has lived in Newton Falls since 1953, formerly of Warren. Tom was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University. He retired from Trumbull Lamp G.E. where he worked as a supervisor for 35 years. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War and a member of the 65th Infantry. Tom was a Christian, loved the Lord and attended the First Church of God in Newton Falls for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Memories of Tom will be carried on by his loving wife, Margaret (Rink) Howard, whom he married on October 24, 1953 after his return from Korea, they were happily married for 56 years, his sons, Tom L. Howard of Warren, Bob C. Howard of Balsalt, CO, Ted W. Howard of Newton Falls, sisters, Zelma (Don) Sipka of Newton Falls, Clara Evans of Warren, brothers, Arthur Howard of Middlesboro, KY, Fred (Helen) Howard of Newton Falls, Frank (Rose) Howard of Newton Falls, and Ed (Judy) Howard of Hubbard. Tom was preceded in death by his son, Don Allen Howard of Eljebel, CO and his parents, Fred Clifford Howard and Vesta Wilson of Pineville, KY. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the First Church of God, 426 Broad Street, Newton Falls. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at the church. Tom will be laid to rest at the Newton Falls Cemetery.
