Thomas Walter McKee, age 80 of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on November 9, 2011 at 9:34AM at Gillette Nursing Home of natural causes. Thomas was born in Cadiz, OH on April 29, 1931the son of Walter & Alberta (Cope) McKee. He moved to Newton Falls in 1964 from Cadiz. Thomas worked as the manager at City Loan in Newton Falls for 37 years before retiring in 1992. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served during the Korean War. Thomas served on the Newton Falls City Council for over 20 years. Thomas is a member of the First Christian Church in Newton Falls, the Newton Falls Rotary Club where he served as President, the Newton Falls American Legion and the Cadiz Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and growing roses. Memories of Thomas will be carried on by his daughters and sons-in-law, Debra & Albert Capatch of Cortland, Tara & Jonathan Gray of Medfield, MA; his son, Roger McKee of West Bloomfield, MI; and his five grandchildren, Raphaela, Hayden, Beckett, Rebecca and Allison. Thomas was preceeded in death by a sister, Janet Carter. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls. Funeral services will be held at the Newton Falls United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 am. Rev. Gordon Ferguson will be officiating. Thomas will be laid to rest at Newton Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406.
