Thomas James Woods, age 89 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Friday Feb. 3, 2023 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren. He was born on September 20, 1933 in Patton, PA the son of the late Archie Albert Woods & Bertha (Litzinger) Woods. Formerly of Patton, PA, Thomas married the love of his life, Mary Lee Garrity on March 6, 1953, and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage together until she passed away on June 13, 2017. Then after getting married they moved to Newton Falls and raised 4 wonderful children together. Tom and Mary Lee were members of the Newton Falls United Methodist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and he coached little league baseball for many years. He worked as an electrician / Supervisor for Rockwell International for 26 years. After working at Rockwell, Tom worked at American Welding in Warren for 16 years and retired in 1993. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Mary, 1 son: Thomas R. Woods, 2 brothers: Ralph & Paul Woods, 4 sisters: Lois Beaver, Geraldine Stoltz, Helen Stoltz and Mildred Dillon.

He is survived by: his daughter Debbie Drake and her companion Dave Stroup of Newton Falls; his 2 sons & their wives: Robert & Sonja Woods, Bill & Andrea Woods all of Newton Falls; 8 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest in Newton Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations please be made to the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
