Obituary

Virginia Mae Pierson, age 90 of Warren passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday June 20, 2010 at 12:00 pm at Shepard of the Valley Nursing Home in Howland. She was born on May 14, 1920 in Akron, the daughter of the late Leonard and Bertha (Lyman) Starkey. Virginia married the love of her life Edgar Axel Pierson in 1942 and he passed on Nov. 17, 1959. She has lived in Warren since 1963 formerly of Braceville. She worked as a waitress at the Rainbow Bowling Lanes in Warren for many years and also worked at Packard Electric for 15 years retiring in 1982. She is a member of the Southington Christian Church. In her spare time Virginia loved to read novels, knit, and crochet. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edgar, 1 sister Donna Ronyay, 3 brothers William, Lloyd, and Jessie Starkey. Virginia is survived by her family, son, Edgar & Beverly Pierson of Warren, 3 granddaughters, Jacqueline Fridley of Newton Falls, Rebecca & Brian Luoma of Niles, Melany & Charles Aston of Champion, 1 grandson, Edgar T. Pierson of Warren, and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 22, 2010 at 7:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held 2 hours prior to the service from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Rev. Calvin Mason will be officiating. Virginia will be laid to rest next to her husband, Edgar at Braceville Cemetery.
