Walter Albert Kohute, age 91 of Newton Falls entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 5, 2016 at his home. Walter was born on April 29, 1924 in Ramey, PA, the son of John & Anna (Elko) Kohute. Walter married the former Mary Jean Valimont on July 7, 1947, Walter and Mary Jean were blessed with 61 years of wonderful marriage before her passing on December 17, 2008. Water was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII. After the war, Walter was employed as a civil service inspector with the US Army. He was a member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Church in Newton Falls. Walter enjoyed going to the casinos and spending time with his best friend, Terry. Loving memories of Walter will be carried on by his daughters, Diane McGhee of Leavittsburg, Sandra Keffer of Windham, sisters, Margaret Bednarcik of Newton Falls, Helen (John) Surick of Newton Falls, brother, Robert "Bob" (Stephanie) Kohute of Newton Falls, grandchildren, Andrea (Terry) Wargo, Robyn Bee, Bryan (Lisa) Keffer, great grandchildren, Terry Wargo Jr., Cristen Lattimer and great great grandchildren, Cambria & Brooklyn Lattimer and Haley & Jayme Keffer. Walter was preceeded in death by his wife, Mary Jean, sister, Ann and brothers, John, George, Mike, Paul, Ed and Joe. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at James Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Mary & St. Joseph's Church.
