He was born on June 17, 1929 in Newton Falls, OH the son of the late Eli Valot and Mabel (Jones) Valot. Wilbur has lived in Newton Falls all of his life and is the 3rd generation to grow up on the family farm.  He graduated from Newton Falls High School in 1947.  After high school he served in the US Army as an instructor at Fort Gordon in Georgia. He built their home on the family farm 67 years ago doing most all the construction work himself.  He enjoyed mowing grass and was able to mow several times this spring. He was a very strong man both physically and in determination. In his later years Wilbur loved sitting on his outdoor patio enjoying the flowers, birds and the beauty of the fields, crops and trees.
