Obituary

William Corliss Carson, 82, Newton Falls, Ohio passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 14, 1927 in Warren, Ohio, son of Paul and Ethel (Corliss) Carson. A lifelong resident of Newton Falls, he graduated from Newton Falls High School in 1945. He was a graduate from Hiram College, where he met and married Jean S. Seelinger September 4, 1948. He served as a medic in the United State Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Newton Falls United Methodist Church. He was a dairy farmer and a carpenter. He taught at Southeast Schools for 10 years, and retired from Newton Falls High School in 1991, after 20 years of teaching, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, and GED classes. He enjoyed working on the farm after retirement and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his daughters: Billie Jean (Larry) Skibiski, Jill Weekley, and Erin Dunbar; one son Todd William Carson; six (6) grandchildren: Cori Gillespie, Jonah Dunbar, Lauren and Jesse Skibiski, and Tanner and Travis Weekley; and two (2) great grandsons, Noah and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Carson August 19, 2001 and his sister, Phyllis Riely. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will include calling hours Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at James Funeral Home (Newton Falls) immediately followed by a short memorial service. Burial will be North jackson Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions made be made to the charity of choice.
