William Henry Downing, age 68 of Lordstown entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at his home. William was born on February 5, 1949 in Warren the son of the late William & Mariam (Ellis) Downing. He has lived in Lordstown for 32 years and 12 years in Park City, UT, formerly of Cortland and Newton Falls. William married the former Barbara Ann Minton on August 16, 1969. William and Barbara have been blessed with 48 wonderful years of marriage. William retired in 2001 after 33 years at Copperweld Steel and was previously employed at Todd Hollow Apts. in Park City, UT. He was recently employed in maintenance with Sawgrass Apartment Complex in Howland. William was a 4H advisor for 21 years. He enjoyed traveling out west, seeing the mountains, horseback riding, hunting and spending time in the outdoors. He was an animal lover especially of dogs and horses. William was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Loving memories of William will be carried on by his wife, Barbara A. Downing of Lordstown, daughter Beth M. Downing of Midway, UT, sons; Benjamin W. Downing of Girard, Bradley D. Downing of Lordstown, sisters; Diane (Frank) Martin of Cortland, Debbie (Mark) Johns of Philadelphia, PA, Denise Burns of Warren and brother Terrance (Barbara) Downing of Kinsman. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 5:00 pm. Cremation will follow.
