William Howard Stocker, age 78, of Lordstown passed away peacefully on February 5, 2019 at Washington Square Nursing Home in Warren, Ohio. Born August 17, 1940, he was the son of Howard Dale Stocker and Edith Elva (Ferrell) Stocker both deceased. Bill, as he preferred to be called, lived his entire life in Lordstown. He worked as a Machine Repairman in the Tool and Die Department of Packard Electric for 37 years retiring in 1995. He was also a self-employed farmer on the family farm. Bill served two years active duty in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge in October 1965. He remained in the U.S. Army Reserves until September 1969. He was a 1958 graduate of Lordstown High School. Bill was a member of Lordstown Christian Church, Farm Bureau, NAUS Club and Masonic Lodge #462 of Newton Falls. His interests included: drag racing, farming, playing cards and watching NASCAR.
Bill is survived by daughters Jennifer Flores and Jerrilyn Stocker, both of Fort Wayne Indiana, son Jonathan (Michelle) Stocker of Lordstown, sisters Ruth West of Lordstown, Theda Boyer of Austintown, Karen (Martin) Jones of Lordstown, brother Robert (Megen) Stocker of Champion and six grandchildren.
Per Bill's request, cremation has taken place. A Masonic service will be held at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Saturday Feb.9, 2019 at 1:30pm. Calling hours will be from 2:00-3:00pm.
Bill requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lordstown Fire Association, 1595 Salt Springs Road, Lordstown, OH 44481 or All Caring Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Road Suite 101, Canfield, OH 44406, in memory of William H. Stocker.
