Wilma Jentry Gladwell age 84 of Warren passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 5:03pm at the Windsor House of Champion. She was born on September 15, 1933 in Crawley, WV the daughter of the late Dewey D. & Delta Sarah (Walkup) Shortridge. Wilma was self-employed as a hairdresser for many years owning and operating Wilma's Beauty Salon in Chesterland, OH. She was an active member of the Chesterland Baptist Church where she was on the flower committee, Women's Club, Bible Study, taught Sunday School and was on the Missions Board. Wilma enjoyed gardening,camping, going to their cabin in PA, playing volleyball, and organizing the community volleyball night. She is survived by: her daughters Suzette & Bill Miller of Mentor, Suzanne & John Colarik of Braceville; her son Michael Gladwell of Chesterland; her sisters: Hester Francello of Baltimore, MD, Willie Dean Young of Rupert, WV; her brothers Gene Shortridge of Freeport, FL; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters: Hazel Weltzel, Helen Brackerich, Hattie Amato, and 1 brother Dewey (Junior) Shortridge. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Monday Jan. 29, 2018 at 11:30 am with Rev. Arnold Edmondson officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior to service time from 10:30- 11:30am.
