Obituary

LORDSTOWN Zane Lloyd,71, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 4:30AM at Robinson Memorial Hospital after a long-time battle with heart disease with his loving family by his side. Zane was born in Slatyfork, WV on April 7, 1941, the son of James Forrest and Lois Evelene (Coberly) Lloyd. After high school, Zane served his country proudly in the US Navy. Zane worked for JC Penney for over 20 years as a drapery installer. He married his loving wife Patricia Diane Bandlow on April 22, 1974. Zane has lived in Lordstown for the past two years, formerly of Diamond. He had many interests. He was a Portage County baseball umpire and Umpire Chief from 1975 to 1980. In 1981, he became a 4-H advisor and spent many years teaching and helping the 4-H members of Portage County. He also loved serving as the woodworking superintendent at the Portage County Randolph Fair for the last 20 years. Zane was a member of the Tree City Woodcarvers, and very active in and past president of the Southeast School Music Boosters. Zane also belonged to the Deerfield American Legion Post, the North American Pigeon Breeders Association and was an honorary member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Memories of Zane will be carried on by his loving wife Patty Lloyd of Lordstown, OH, five daughters, Jodi Bowen and (James) of Jacksonville Fl, Barbara Simmons and (Bruce) of Lordstown, Evelene Wilson of Jacksonville Fl, Brenda Best and (Ryan) of Leavittsburg, OH and Trish Lloyd of Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Four sons Audy Lloyd and (Bonnie) of Jacksonville, Fl, Rick DeRemer of Diamond, OH, Zane Lloyd and (Kelly) of Jacksonville Fl, Eric Lloyd and (Jessie) of Salem, OH. Three brothers Jim Blake Lloyd and (Martha) of Elberton, GA, Joe Ronald Lloyd and (Marilyn) of Warren, OH and Stephen Showalter of Ripplemead, VA. and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Lois E. Showwalter and Step father Eric Showalter of Iron Gate, Virginia. Calling hours will be held for Zane on Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls,OH. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Lordstown Cemetery where military honors will be provided by the Veterans.
