Albert C. "Boomer" Hoerig Jr. age 84 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday morning April 30, 2023 at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Newton Falls. He was born on Sept. 15, 1938 in Warren, OH the son of the late Albert C. Hoerig Sr. and Ruth (Brengartner) Hoerig. Albert was a life long resident of Newton Falls, and graduated from Newton Falls High School in the Class of 1957. He married the love of his life, Kathleen S. Uhrin on March 19, 1960, and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage together until she passed away on July 18, 2017. Albert worked as a Stone Mason/Bricklayer for the Bricklayer Union Local 43 for over 32 years and retired in 1992. He and his brother Edwin were self employed masons and worked many years together until he retired in 2020. Albert was a member of the St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church in Newton Falls, Newton Falls Amvets Post #112, and the former Knights of Columbus (K of C) in Newton Falls. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, Nascar racing, snow skiing in his youth, doing puzzles, tinkering in the garage, sporting events, and especially his grandchildren. Albert is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathleen, and 1 brother: Edwin Hoerig.
He is survived by: 1 daughter: Amy Christine (Robert) Kirchenbauer of Nashville, TN, 3 sons: Gregory Martin (Roxanne) Hoerig of Warren, Joseph Peter (Megan) Hoerig of West Chester, OH, Ted Brian (Cathy) Hoerig of Strongsville, OH, 1 brother: David Hoerig of Newton Falls, and 8 grandchildren: Michael, Amber, Ryan, Lindsey, Nicholas, Mitchell, Dominic, Sophia, and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Thursday May 4, 2023 at 11:00am with Father David Merzweiler officiating. Calling hours will be on Wednesday May 3, 2023 from 5:00- 8:00pm. Boomer will be laid to rest beside his wife Kathleen at St. Joseph Cemetery in Newton Falls.
