Albert "Junie" St. Clair, 90 of Leavittsburg and formerly of Newton Falls, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 1, 2023 at St. Joseph Healthcare Center in Warren. Born on November 18, 1932 in Warren; Junie was the son of the late Albert J. and Grace Irene (Stickler) St. Clair.
A graduate of Newton Falls High School; Junie joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served our country during the Korean War. He joined in January of 1952 and rose to the Rank of Corporal being honorably discharged on January 21, 1955. During his service time for our country, Junie received the Silver Star Medal among many other medals to include the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Medal, UN Service Medal and a Purple Heart. Following his faithful service, Junie returned home to Newton Falls and married the love of his life; the former Janet Kotera on September 11, 1964. Together they shared 58 years of marriage. Junie had worked on the Chrome Line at Rockwell for many years, retiring in 1976. in his spare time he enjoyed landscaping, was avid Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed his furry animal friends. He is proud member of the Newton Falls VFW Post 3332.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; brother in law; John Gordon of Newton Falls nieces; Karen (Scott) Miller and their children, McKenzie, Grace and Kaitlyn of Frankenmuth, Michigan, Patricia (Steve) Kennedy and their son Bryan of Florida and Gayle (Nick) Kinze of Corsicana, Texas and a nephew, George Tomiano of Newton Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Betty Gordon and Evelyn Tomiano; two brothers; Bill and Bob St. Clair.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Thursday, August 10, 2023 with Pastor Jennifer Dorn officiating at James Funeral Home with calling hours one hour prior to the service. Junie will be laid to rest in Newton Falls Cemetery, where military honors will be observed for his service to our country. A military fly over to honor Junie will be at 12:00pm as military honors are being rendered.
