Audrey Jean Goynes

Audrey Jean Goynes 93 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday  Aug. 21, 2023 at St. Joseph Eastland Hospital in Warren.  She was born on December  6, 1929 in Newton Falls, OH the daughter of Floyd Allen Sinn and Gladys Viola (Longenberger) Sinn.    
Audrey married the love of her life, Eugene (Gene) Howard Goynes on August 28, 1959, and he passed away after 49 years of marriage on April 15, 2008.  She has lived her entire life in the Newton Falls area, and graduated from Newton Falls High School in the Class of 1947.  She retired in 1991 after 30 years as a insurance clerk at Beardsley Insurance Agency. Later, she retired from Mayflower-Wollam Insurance in 2018 where she worked part-time for 10 years at the Newton Falls, North Jackson, & Cortland locations.  She is a member of the Pricetown United Methodist Church where she held many offices and served on many committees including as chairman of the annual turkey dinner for 26 years.  She was a member of the Mahoning Valley Grange and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, where she was a proud 28 gallon donor.  For years, she crusaded for the American Cancer Society in Newton Township.  Her hobbies included planting flowers, doing yard work, and attending the grandchildren's sports and activities.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, 3 sisters: Virginia Wright, Viola Armstrong, and Wanda Simpkins, 1 brother:  Donald Sinn, 1 son:  Dennis Zeck, and 1 son-in-law:  Chuck Welch.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Beverlee Goynes of Harrison, MT, and Sharon Welch,  1 son:  Rod Zeck, 1 brother: Frank Sinn, all of Newton Falls  8 grandchildren and 7 great -grandchildren

Per Audrey's  wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday Aug. 25, 2023 at 3:00pm with Pastor Jim Macdonald officiating. Calling hours will be two hours prior to services time from 1:00- 3:00pm.  Audrey will be laid to rest next to her husband Gene at Newton Falls Cemetery.  The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Warren Family Mission PO Box 311 Warren, OH 44482 in her memory.
