Gary A. Cain

February 9, 1954 ~ July 9, 2023 (age 69) 69 Years Old


Gary A. Cain, age 69, formerly of Southington passed away peacefully with his son Sam and daughter in law Loretta by his side on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on February 9, 1954 in Ravenna, OH the son of the late Robert Cain & Patricia (Jacoby) Cain.  Gary attended James A Garfield High School in Garrettsville, OH and graduated in the Class of 1972.  He then married the love of his life, Linda F. Dickey on November 6, 1974 and they were blessed with 44 years of marriage together before her passing on February 19, 2019.

Gary had lived in Southington for over 40 years before moving to Trinity, TX 3 years ago.  He worked for the Road Maintenance Dept. for the Ohio Turnpike for over 30 years before retiring in 2013.  Gary enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling, and was an avid history buff. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Linda.

He is survived by:  2 sons Gregory Cain of Garrettsville, Samuel & (Loretta) Cain also of Garrettsville; his 3 sisters Cyndi & (Dale) Brookover of Hiram, Marji Palmer of Windham, Tish Hoobler of Freedom, OH,  4 brothers Jim & (Denise) Cain of Windham, Tim & (Debbie) Cain of Nelson, OH, Matt & (Bonnie) Cain of Warren, Don Cain of Garrettsville; 4 grandchildren Zach (Alyssa), Jarrod, Jace, Mia; and 1 great-granddaughter: Zynlee.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
