Gwendolyn Sewell

Gwendolyn Sewell age 72 of Warren passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Monday Feb 27, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born on Aug 6, 1950 in  Youngstown, OH the daughter of the late Willie F. Lawson and Ellen E. (McDaniel) Lawson.  Gwen married the love of her life, David Sewell Sr on May 9, 1970, and they have enjoyed 52 years of marriage together until he passed away on July 15, 2022.  She had lived in Warren for over 52 years, formerly of Youngstown, OH.  Gwen worked as a Nurse's Aid at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren for 35 years retiring in 2001. She was a long standing member of the Living Word Sanctuary Church in Southington. Gwen loved traveling, reading, and ministering outreach for the church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, 1 brother: Ronald Lawson and 1 sister: Mary Eley.

She is survived by: 2 daughters: Kimberly & James Johnson- McLaurin of Smithfield, NC, Yolanda Fulton of Warren, 1 son: David & Kelly Sewell Jr. of Lyndhurst, OH, 1 sister: Lynda Washington of Decatur, GA,  2 brother: Andrew Lawson of Merritt Island, FL, Isaac Black of Youngstown, OH, 4 grandchildren: Kenta', Kaylani, Immaru Jr., Ragenae, 1 great grandson: Kadien, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Monday March 6, 2023 at the Living Word Sanctuary Church 3737 St. Rt. 534 Southington, OH 44470 at 12:00pm with Pastor Nicholas DeJacimo and Pastor Mark Cohen officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to service time from 11:00am - 12:00pm at the church.  Gwen will be laid to rest beside her husband David at Braceville Cemetery.
