Patricia Harnar Obituary

Patricia A. Harnar, 67, of Paris Twp. passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 16, 2024. She was born on February 13, 1957, in North Jackson, Ohio, to the late William F. Tessean and Barbara L. (McCracken) Tessean.  Patricia has lived in Paris Township since 1968, where she graduated from Southeast High School in the Class of 1975.  She married the love of her life, Charles A. Harnar, on October 22, 1983; and they have enjoyed the past 40 years of marriage together on the family farm. Patricia worked as a Sewing Machine Service Technician and Educator at Reed Sewing Center in Warren for 27 years, until they closed in 2001. She then continued to work as a teller for Farmers National Bank in Lake Milton for 18 years, retiring in 2019. Following her retirement, she continued to do all of the activities she loved including sewing, crafting, servicing sewing machines, upkeeping and caring for her beautiful yard, and creating wonderfully handcrafted projects with her husband. Patricia spent her days supporting and encouraging her children at all their various sporting and 4-H events.  As a result, she became Momma Harnar to many of her children’s friends, treating them as one of her own making sure everyone had a warm meal and a mother’s love.  But most of all, her greatest joy shined through when she became a grandma to Thaddeus Charles.

She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Harnar of Paris Township; daughter, Hannah Harnar of Ravenna; son, William (Megan) Harnar of Parma Heights; brothers, Robert (Heather) Tessean of Paris Township, Richard (Marjie)Tessean of Loveland, CO, and grandson: Thaddeus Charles Harnar.

Patricia was a devoted member of the Braceville United Methodist Church for many years and enjoyed their fellowship and worship. She cultivated happiness and joy wherever she went, and had wonderful friendships that spanned many miles and decades. She was kind, compassionate, and caring and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.  Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.  The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at UH Seidman Cancer Center and Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care and support they provided Patricia during her last months.
