Raymond C. Keeler

Raymond Charles Keeler, 84 of North Jackson passed away at 7:18pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born in Berlin Center on December 8, 1938; the son of the late Raymond E. and Edith M. (James) Keeler.

A life time area resident, Raymond worked as diesel mechanic for over 40 years, retiring in late 2001. He was of Christian faith and enjoyed drag racing and NASCAR and would cheer for anyone who drove for MOPAR. His other favorite past times were riding his motorcycle up to Lake Erie and riding his 4-wheeler on his property and going over to visit his sisters.

He married his wife, the former Shirley June Shade on July 30, 1960. Together they shared 53 years of marriage until her passing on September 29, 2013. Also preceding Raymond in death are his parents, his two sisters, Helen and Janet and a daughter, Alice.

Surviving him is a daughter, Denise Keeler of North Jackson, two sisters; Norma (Jerry) Sallaz and Stella Skinner, both of North Jackson; a brother William (Ruth) Keeler of North Jackson; four grandchildren; Tadda Riggs of Berlin Center, as well as Margaret (Mark) Vingle, Aaron Burkey, and Justin (Megan) Cadle, all of North Jackson; 12 great grandchildren and two great - great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11am at Jackson Township Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects from 10-11am. Raymond will be then be laid to rest next to his wife Shirley immediately following the services.
