Shirley J (Braunns) Back

Shirley Jean Back, 74 of Newton Falls, formerly of Girard passed away at 4:50am, Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Country Club Rehab. She was born in Ravenna on July 22,1949 to the late Edward A. and Mary Elizabeth (Wick) Braunns.

A lifetime are aresident, Shirley worked for Goodwill Industries. She graduated from South East high School in 1967. Her favorite past time was playing bingo and spoiling her grandkids. Shirley was a strong, respected woman who ruled with an iron fist, but loved with a heart of gold. Anyone who knew her could tell you that she was a hard working woman and one the strongest women they knew. She was the kind of person to fight tooth and nail for those that she loved. She was incredibly kind, strong and compassionate to a fault. She will be missed deeply as a mother, a sister, a grandmother and a friend.

She is survived by her two daughters; Lynda (James) Rolland of Warren and Jennifer (LeRoy Seem) Brewster of West Farmington; two sister; Sandra (Kenneth) Pontius of Lake Milton and Gwendolyn Hornof of Newton Falls; a brother, Robert braunns of Diamond; 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Edith and three brothers; Pearl, Merle and Paul.

Cremation has taken place and the family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Shirley will be laid to rest with her parents at Palmyra West Cemetery.
