Thomas Fizet Obituary

"I went for a walk today."

Thomas E. Fizet age 74 of Palmyra Twp passed away suddenly on Monday Feb 5, 2024 in Newton Falls.  He was born on May 7, 1949 in Warren, OH.  Thomas is the son of the late Stephen J. Fizet Sr. and Mary A. (Remish) Fizet.  Tom has lived in Palmyra Twp since 1978, formerly of Niles where he graduated from Niles McKinley High School in the Class of 1968.  Tom married the loved of his life, Marijo A. Sharp on Aug 23, 1969. They have enjoyed the past 54 years of marriage together.  He worked as a Body Shop Foreman (Dingman) at General Motors (GM) Lordstown for over 30 years retiring in 1998.  Tom loved traveling in his motor home, fishing, going to NASCAR races in Indianapolis, working in his garage, and restoring his 3 antique cars.  He is a member of the UAW #1112, and the Christian volunteer group SOWER (servants on wheels ever ready). Tom is preceded in death by his parents.

Tom is survived by: 1 daughter: Tamara & Gary Tennefoss of North Benton, OH, 1 son: Marc & Susan Fizet of Rootstown, OH, 2 brothers: Stephen & Sue Fizet Jr. of McDonald, OH, Kevin & Helen Jo Fizet of McDonald, OH,  2 grandchildren: Olivia & Gracie Fizet, and many nieces & nephews. 

Per Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life Service will be at the First Baptist Church 2640 South Canal St. Newton Falls, OH 44444 on Monday Feb. 12, 2024 at 6:00pm with Pastor Steve Spurlock officiating.  The family will be receiving friends for calling hours at the church from 4:00- 6:00pm.
